WHAT TO EXPECT

Message From the Parent Manager

For new players or those considering playing, the hockey community of young women at Conestoga is unique and beneficial.  The range and levels on the team runs the gamut.  We are a competitive team and yet every player, whether novice or expert, is valued.

Most importantly, we can't wait for the girls to see each other in the halls at Conestoga and smile at each other.  When appropriate, the girls will try to meet at a restaurant prior to a game and have a few laughs. The girls have a text chain, and parents communicate via emails, Team Snap, or FB.

Typically, we have one or two charitable or fundraising activities.  During the Holidays, the girls have a gift exchange etc. In the Spring, the Hicks Learn to Skate Program is a one-day activity where the male and female players from the league teach kids how to skate.  Without a doubt, the players have as much fun as the kids. We also have an end-of-the-year award ceremony.

Hockey is a Club Sport at Conestoga which means we receive some monetary contribution from TESD, but not all. We do try to keep costs down. Each player purchases a uniform and other costs are dependent upon how many girls play: Total expenses divided by the number of players. A deposit is due with initial registration, and when the players are all registered, a final bill is sent out.

Our season runs September through March. Our practices are at Ice Line West Chester or Center Ice Oaks and games are typically at Ice Line, Power Play, PNG, Aston or other local rinks.

Everyone is welcome! Please reach out with questions about costs, carpooling, opportunities to practice with the team to try it out, etc.!
